    Guangzhou North Second Ring Expressway - Kaichuang Avenue Entrance and Exit Project (Xiangxue Interchange) is a key project of Huangpu District, Guangzhou. It is a political project and a popular project that leaders at all levels attach great importance to and the public is keenly concerned about. It was built by Guangzhou Beierhuan Traffic Technology Co., Ltd., and the design survey began in 2012. The main civil engineering project started in January 2017 and was basically completed in June 2019. At 10am of July 16, 2019, the Xiangxue Toll Station of the project was officially opened to traffic.

    After briefing on the construction of the project, He Baiqing, General Manager of Yuexiu Transportation, delivered a speech and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Huangpu District Committee, the district government and competent departments of the industry and the participating organizations for their support and dedication. He pointed out that the smooth operation of the project is a model of close cooperation between government and enterprises, sincere cooperation and full promotion of the participating parties, and vividly explained the corporate culture concept of Yuexiu Transportation's “continuously surpassing and beyond excellence”, showing that the employees of Yuexiu Transportation in the new era has never forgotten why we started, take the lead and face the challenge bravely. At the same time, he requested that the North Second Ring Company will meet the expectations of the Huangpu District Committee and the district government,  complete the project as soon as possible, and operate and manage the Xiangxue Toll Station well, and strive to create a showcase for the quality service of the North Second Ring Company.

    Overview of the entrance and exit project of Kaichuang Avenue of Guangzhou North Second Ring Expressway (Xiangxue Interchange)


    The Guangzhou North Second Ring Expressway-Kaichuang Avenue entrance and exit project (Xiangxue interchange) began design survey in 2012. The main civil engineering project started in January 2017 and was basically completed in June 2019. The general situation is as following:

    Construction scale

    The project has set up an interchange and has widened and reconstructed the sections of the North Second Ring Expressway and Kaichuang Avenue. Among which, the total widened length of North Second Ring Expressway is 2.81 kilometers, the total widened length of Kaichuang Avenue is 2.77 kilometers (on a single side), and the new ramp is 1.554 km/4. Widening bridge 734.77 meters/6 blocks, newly built ramp bridge 165.54 meters/2 blocks, 5 extended culverts, 2 new culverts, 4 new ramp toll stations, station name Xiangxue toll station, 4 toll booths for toll stations, each entrance and exit are equipped with ETC lanes and manual lanes that meet the traffic of the site, connecting Guangzhou North Second Ring Expressway and Huangpu District Kaichuang Avenue.

    Technical standard

    The design speed of the project is 80 km/h on North Second Ring Expressway and 60 km/h on Kaichuang Avenue. The design load of the bridge and culvert is highway-I grade, the design flood frequency is 1/100, and the subgrade width is 45.0 meters on the North Second Ring Expressway (including the auxiliary lane), 60.0 meters on Kaichuang Avenue, the width of the roadbed is 10.5 meters, and the width of the bridge is the same as the width of the roadbed.
